ABSTRACT
This study reports the assessment of the pollution to urban soil pollution in few major cities of Romania. In the past few years, in all over Romania an increasing trend could be noticed related to the scientific interest for soil contamination due to anthropogenic activities. Nevertheless, a research aiming to assess a quality screening report related to the presence of contaminants in top soils of urban areas due has never been conducted and the public society is deprived of such information in all cities.
The assessment of soils quality is based on a precise location of the samples performed with GPS receiver, is highlighted on punctual maps and all analytical data obtained in laboratories of analysis have as result a georeferenced database. It is important to note that areas identified as polluted were largely correlated with actual or potential sources of pollution that have existed over time. Finally there have been recommendations by the local authorities of the cities analyzed, respectively to use this experimental field in order to monitorize soil quality to continue in the future.
