GEOINFORMATION SYSTEM FOR COLLECTING TERRESTRIAL AND SATELLITE DATA DURING PERIODS OF SEISMIC ACTIVITY IN THE NORTHERN TIEN SHAN

ABSTRACT

With the development of space technologies, satellite information and data from ground geophysical observatories are increasingly being used in scientific studies of various physical processes and, in particular, to identify effects in geophysical fields during periods of seismic activity. In this paper, we recommend to create the geographic information system (GIS) based on modern computer software for collection, processing, visualization and analysis of experimental geophysical terrestrial and satellite data during periods of seismic activity in the Northern Tien Shan. It is proposed to organize access to the necessary resources in a single geoinformation space: satellite measurements of parameters of the interplanetary magnetic field (velocity, temperature, density, pressure, concentration of streams of solar wind particles); GPS-measurements; ground-based measurements of geomagnetic field parameters, international and Kazakhstani seismological catalogs. We also present the structure of GIS information layers for collection, storage and processing of terrestrial and satellite geophysical data. Then, the basic requirements for the general information infrastructure and for the server of the geoinformation system are formulated.
