ABSTRACT

This paper proposes a complementary reevaluation through appropriate numerical processing of geophysical measurements, namely electricity, which were intended for the sulfide metal ores research. Extracted data were processed both by digitizing profiles, and by extracting them from field notebooks. Using standardized methods, specifically by interpolating date, original maps were constructed. Subsequently, the results from the field work were processed by statistical and probabilistic methods in order to outline certain advantages, but also disadvantages between the two interpolation methods, in this case, the manual process was made by a geophysicist and the electronical process by specialized programs. Electrical prospecting is characterized by a large variety of methods for subsoil investigations, which is based on dependency analysis of electrical phenomena and physical-geometrical properties of the environment. In recent decades, the geophysical enhancing research has been driven mainly by the need to explore new areas for future prospecting of useful minerals. From the multitude of geophysical methods applied in these matters, the electric methods occupy an important place due to the speed and the cost that is less compared to other methods for the same purpose. In Romania, there were numerous electrical prospecting, which had targeted locations of exploitable deposits of useful minerals. At the moment, there are multiple reports of geophysical research, which in the current context, could be reinterpreted in order to map the areas of interest concerning metal sulfides. Unfortunately, access to such documents is extremely limited because of regulations that have led to security of data which were public knowledge in previous years.
