TECHNICAL SOLUTION FOR THE MINING DRILLING EQUIPMENT COMMAND SYSTEM

ABSTRACT

This paper presents a technical solution proposed for the mining drilling equipment command system, used for digging the horizontal mining works. The manufacturing industry of mining machinery in Romania and from different countries achieved a wide range of equipment for digging the horizontal mining works. As a result of the activity undertaken by a research team from the University of Petrosani, the drilling equipment’s with one manipulator arm (IMP-1) and two manipulator arms (IMP-2) were designed and constructed.
These are intended for the implementation of mechanized drilling, used for digging in rocks with mono-axial compressive strength up to 160 MPa or for the execution of blast holes to the depth of 2 to 2.6 m and a diameter of 42-45 mm. The construction of these machines is permanently subjected to changes generated by the necessity to increase the excavation speeds, the size and shape of the mining works section, the nature of the terrain, the extension of the field of usage, increasing running time and utilization coefficient, the automation of the operating mode. The technical level and cost of the excavation with explosives is characterized mainly by the technical level of the blast holes perforation.
The energy feeding of hydraulic consumers (rotary and linear hydraulic engines) part of the mining drilling installations is done by an electric-hydraulic system. This is usually composed of an electric-hydraulic group, a pressure valve block and a hydraulic battery. The hydraulic supply system of the drilling installation, Romanian design type IMP-2, switches the operation of the hydraulic pump to low charge while idle (when all the hydraulic feeders are neutral). The hydraulic engines for powering the manipulator arms and auxiliary systems (the systems of fixation from front and rear, the system of self towing, the protection roof and ergonomic chair), of the drilling equipment IMP-2, are controlled by means of hydraulic distributors using the principle of retaining the pressure for the neutral position.
The proposed hydraulic command system is designed so that for each linear hydraulic engine with distinct operating cycle, one dispenser and an unlock-able directional valve are used. The advantages of this type of command system are: simplicity, small installed power, the good cooling of oil during the functioning and the possibility of using powering hydraulic engines with different capacities but very close to each other.
