One of the fundamental problems in coal mining industry is inefficient use of machinery and equipment. It is therefore necessary to take measures to improve the situation. An innovative system to test components of mining machinery control hydraulics presented in the article may support the initiative. This system enables reliable and efficient testing of components of the control hydraulics. This has an essential and practical significance, since hydraulic systems are commonly applied by many industries, in particular by the mining industry. In order to increase the efficiency and efficacy of hydraulic systems, it is necessary to use effective and reliable control systems. They must be properly designed, constructed and tested to meet the high requirements of the users. In the case of hydraulic systems used in the mining industry the aspects that must also be taken into account include the difficult environmental conditions of operation.
The innovative system presented in the article allows very precise control of hydraulic system actuators. At the same time, it provides a wide range of tests for technical parameters of these elements. This is particularly relevant in the case of research on systems controlling the operation of powered roof supports. The system through the use of innovative solutions allows, among others, to conduct measurements of the energy required to control selected types of solenoid valves used in powered roof support sections.
The article discusses the developed system and presents a practical example of its use when testing a quick release valve. The designed system shall find wide practical use not only in mining but also in other industries.
