ABSTRACT
Development of numerical methods allows on much more better examination of changes in foundation-soil interaction. However, there are still some areas which require more analysis and discussion, because results of simulations on are often divergent to the field tests. One of these problems is numerical modeling of displacement pile installation and proper consideration of its influence on surrounding soil. Application a simple FEM model can be not sufficient, by its limited application in changes of soil consideration. During the installation many different processes appear in soil, such as residual stresses. Proper consideration of residual stresses appearing on pile base and shaft can change the results of numerical simulations and make them more suitable to real model. Basing on results of static load tests of piles conducted in true scale a simple FEM model was prepared and some solutions for including in situ soil parameters changes were proposed. Discussion of application of proposed solutions and its shortcomings was also presented along with the recommendations for future works.
