Search and development of new, more selective collecting reagents for the improvement of flotation process is a priority to generation of innovative flotation technology for separation of substances and minerals. The application of new reagents generated on the basis of domestic raw materials will help to solve problems such as improving the efficiency of flotation ore benefication with the use of newly developed technological modes of flotation, increasing of gold production in the country.
There is a sufficient amount of fusel oils in Kazakhstan from alcohol production that we consider as a feedstock for chemicals. Fusel oils have a pungent smell, which does not allow using them in flotation process in its natural form. In this regard, the development of environmentally friendly technology for the synthesis of composite reagents from available domestic raw materials by modifying fusel oils is a very important task.
The generation of composite foaming reagent, xanthogenate, collector and thionocarbamates was carried out. Their colloid-chemical and flotation characteristics were identified. Four composite reagents from fusel oil by varying the percentage of five alcohols (propyl, butyl, isobutyl, amyl and isoamyl) were simulated. The optimal parameters of the generation of composite reagents were tested on pilot installation R-620 Selecta (made in Spain) such as temperature, time and surface flotation characteristics. As object of research was used copper-lead-zinc ore of Artemyevsky deposits. The content of the main component in the ore (wt. %) amounted: copper -1,3-1,7 %, lead - 2.3-2.8 %, zinc - 6.9-7.2 %.
Application of composite xanthogenate improves copper extraction into the concentrate about of 5%. In this case, the obtained copper concentrate with a copper content of 28.5% and extraction of 66.3% and also lead concentrate with a lead content of 56.1% and recovery of 90.1%, the extraction of lead increasing by 3-5%. Zinc concentrate is obtained with a zinc content of 54.5% and extraction of 83.5%. The results of the flotation tests were shown that the usage of composite xanthogenate mixture number 3 reduces reagent consumption by 10 g / t and increases the extraction of non-ferrous metals in the bulk concentrate at 1.6 - 4.5%. It is shown that the composite xanthogenate increases the extraction degree of copper, lead and zinc of 3-5% and reduce consumption of collector at 10-15%.
