HYDROGEOLOGICAL BURDENS OF ABANDONED MINE WORKINGS AND THEIR ELIMINATION

ABSTRACT
The paper presents an original method for elimination of hydrogeological burden from wastewaters of abandoned mine workings. The method is based on a patented principle of a star-shaped electrode with unconventional arrangement of materials of the electrode, ensuring oxidation-reduction processes at neutralizing mine waters, at the same time ensuring with its shape different current density at the flotation effect of electrolysis. The paper also shows examples of technological equipment of a wastewater treatment plant as well as laboratory analyses of treated waters from abandoned mine workings in Eastern Slovakia.
