The aim of the paper is to present the calibration method of hydrological and hydraulic parameters into a river sector and watershed, to investigate the response of the catchment basin to extreme weather and respectively, how the flood waves resulting from rainfall transit on the river. Many economic, social, environmental losses as well as casualties, occur annually due to floods[4]. In order to reduce the risk of hazard, flood and risk maps are required for different probabilities of their production and creating models that can predict floods in production time, based on information received from sensors located on watersheds. These models, so necessary for predicting disasters such as floods, to reduce the damage caused by these, can be built using specialized software[4]. The software for building these complex hydraulic models is Mike 11, used in the paper. The paper shows sequentially the steps required and the data base to build a coupled hydrologic-hydraulic model that can be used for prediction of catastrophic flooding.
