ABSTRACT
The paper is dedicated to new innovative test method for determination of shear wave velocity achieved by dynamic test in-situ. Different soil types (e.g. gravel, clay, gravel with sand, limestone) were tested by the simple method. Scattering of shear wave velocities measured in-situ is relatively wide and depends on various local conditions. That is why it is necessary to make a test when it is possible. In this case, it is important to apply sufficient huge excitation impulse. Self-developed excitation impulse device was designed, prepared and tested for this purpose. Operational conditions and advantages of this excitation device are described in the paper.
Consequently, accelerations of the soil vibration were measured by portable measurement equipment. Acquired data were evaluated by self-developed Square Acceleration Integration Method, which was implemented into own program “VSANALYSIS”. The same data were also evaluated by the Method of Cross-Correlation Functions. The results obtained from dynamic tests were compared and analyzed.
The proposed method of dynamic tests and evaluation of measured data is fast, cheap, non-destructive and non-invasive too.
