ABSTRACT
The authors determine basic parameters for components of axial tunnel fan VO-21(t) with a straight-walled annular diffuser. The parameters and aerodynamic design are tested using ANSYS CFX software. It is found to be feasible to cut down metal con-sumption of the fan impeller and its moment of inertia by redistributing normal inertia of the impeller blades from the hub to the disks. Relations between the permissible rota-tion speed of the impeller and the disk thickness are given in the article. The revolting frequencies from guide vanes, directing vanes with variable-incidence blades and from pulsations of an air stream are also considered. The new impeller construction has been designed.
