ABSTRACT
A new design method for parallel underground structures subjected to the action of earthquakes is proposed. Analytical solution of pseudo-static elasticity theory problem for a half-plane weakened by supported openings gives an opportunity to take in to account influence of Earth surface and makes the method suitable for shallow structures design. The results of the method application for vulnerability estimation of underground structures are given.
Keywords: seismic action, underground structures, design.
