ABSTRACT
This paper presents some of the most important considerations regarding the functioning of variable speed flameproof electric motors designed for use in explosive mixtures of gases and vapors, highlighting some of the most important technical issues which can occur in practice, as well as some practical solutions in terms of designing these types of electrical drives in order to overcome some of the short comes which can arise while functioning in various technical installations of operators in the oil and gas industry.
