ABSTRACT
Maritime education and training are tasked with the formation of the appropriate human resources for the maritime industry. Because of the complexity and interdisciplinarity of the quality concept itself and the numerous specificities of maritime education and training, appropriate quality assessment and evaluation methods with greater objectivity and ease of use are needed. The article approaches firstly the specificity of maritime education and training, which should be integrated into a quality assessment method. Secondly, there is a review of the commonly used methods to determine and evaluate quality in (higher) education, and finally there is a discussion regarding an appropriate assessment method and a proposal for its implementation.
