ABSTRACT
This paper aims to analyze the ecotoxicological risks of fertilizer on the aquatic
environment of the Dambovita River. Analyzed substances are highly toxic, it
represents a serious approach to ecotoxicology. Toxic effects of substances considered significant risk to human health through physiological changes of human and animal blood (methemoglobinemy). For spectrophotometric determination of nitrate, nitrite and ammonia nitrogen were analyzed by four water samples collected from two different points before and after spraying fruit trees. A higher concentration of nitrates in water leads to negative effects on both aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems. Regarding aquatic produce nitrate groundwater pollution and eutrophication layer of surface water. The negative effects of ammoniacal nitrogen occur in a higher concentration of 0,3 mg/l, very close to the value obtained.
