ABSTRACT
Article deals with the evaluation of the development potential of Geotourism in
Northeastern Carpathians area. This development in mentioned region could be
controlled by suitable regional policy and by various marketing practices that have set realistic goals. In the easternmost region of Slovakia, in Bukovské Hills area, is located Poloniny National Park, which has a unique natural wealth. On the territory of the National Park is the largest concentration of beech forests in Slovakia. The article
characterizes tourist infrastructure in the primary forests country of Outer Eastern
Carpathians, within the International Biospheric Reservations East Carpathians. In
article are depicted possible measures for tourism development
