ABSTRACT
For Pakistan with its limited resources of crude oil the use of biofuels in transportation is the issue of the day. In this paper the issues related to biofuels production and use
have been discussed. In particular, it has been proved experimentally that the use of
Jatropha biodiesel along with bioethanol allow to operate diesel engines on the neat
biofuel without significant engine modification.
Keywords: diesel engine, efficiency, emissions, biodiesel, alcohol
