ABSTRACT
The presented study deals with the analysis of heat loss reduction in the hot water
distribution systems. Not only does the efficiency of hot water preparation depend on
the heat losses in the hot water systems, but it also depends on other factors. To express the impact of these factors on the pipes of small dimensions, results obtained by calculation, numerical simulation and experimental measurements are used in this paper. Finally, energy savings, which can be achieved at the intermittent operation of
the system, are expressed for different insulation thicknesses.
Keywords: energy savings, finite volume modelling, heat losses, hot water distribution system
