ABSTRACT
The process of alkaline hydrothermal activation (with NaOH) of fly ash from Bulgarian
coal-burning thermo-power plant “Maritsa 3” has been investigated by means of
scanning electron microscopy and energy-dispersive X-Ray analyses. The stages of the
zeolitization have been discussed on the base of the obtained data for the morphology
and composition of typical individual particles from the zeolitized fly ash samples,
synthesized at different treatment duration. The influences of pre-treatment and posttreatment
ageing of the suspensions have been also examined.
