Various theoretical parametric particle size distribution models exist which could help with soil texture classification transformations. However, there is usually no best parametric model which is superior under all circumstances. Various parametric models frequently show different degrees of precision in different soils and under different environments. In this paper the authors evaluate whether ensemble modelling could bring some improvement to soil texture transformations, when existing particle size distribution models are used as ensemble members. An improvement in precision was proved, and it is documented in the paper that the ensemble model worked better than any of its constituents.
