ABSTRACT
The aim of this paper is to briefly describe the problems encountered when mapping in the Hlučín district, where the so called Prussian Cadastre had been used for a long time. The problem will be illustrated by briefly describing the procedure deployed when analysing the results of land surveys in a concrete part of the Hlučín district – namely the cadastral territory of Strahovice. The paper deals with the procedure used when assessingthe impacts of accuracy of the original geometric bases on the resultant map, and suggests one of the possible solutions to identify the sources of errors, allowing the subsequent measurements to be made more accurate.
