ABSTRACT

In this work, a phytochemical characterization of extracts of leaves of a medicinal plant which is the Crateagus oxyacantha L. Crateagus oxyacantha is belonging to the family Rosaceae is made. This characterization is followed by the determination of the evaluation of the antimicrobial activity of extract éthanolique on microbial pathogens to know their effects on these organisms. We have Staphylococcus aureus, Klebseilla pneumoniae, Bacillus subtilis, Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aerugenosa witch present the bacterie. This extract has been studied on two yeasts namely Candida albicans and Saccharomyces cerievieae. It should be noted that these agents are characterized by a high frequency of contamination and pathogenicity. Phytochemical tests on this extract showed that the plant has a wealth of flavonoid. This study shows that the extracts have antibacterial effects against Gram + and some Gram - except for E. coli. Thus an inhibitory effect on yeasts should be mentioned.
