USE OF THE ELECTROHYDRAULIC SERVOMECHANISMS WITH LASER POSITION FEEDBACK IN WATER RESOURCES MANAGEMENT

ABSTRACT

The paper presents the main ideas of the modeling, simulation, and experimental identification of the electrohydraulic servomechanisms with laser position feedback used for improving the quality of the soil layers incorporated in embankment dams. This type of servomechanism is produced by the Japanese company TOPCON with a modular structure, common for all hydraulically actuated land levelling equipment (with scoop or blade). Besides the numerical simulation and experimental identification of this peculiar servomechanism, the authors’ team accomplished an original test bench which reproduces in laboratory the operational conditions of the hydraulic mechanism set up on the levelling equipment. The objectives of the paper are the followings: a brief presentation of the laser controlled modular system designed purposefully for the leveling equipment, a presentation of the original device which simulates the operational conditions of the real system, some typical results of the numerical simulation, and the practical conclusions of the experimental identification of a leveling system mounted on the test device.
