MODEL FOR POSSIBLE ETHICS IN INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION IN HIGHER EDUCATION

ABSTRACT

The great challenge of universities is the attempt to become a reference point both in the
origin country and abroad. In order to support this desiderate, university international
cooperation is the most important part towards increasing national and international
visibility. This study wants to make a model for possible ethics in international
cooperation in higher education, because it can only be achieved with the existence of a
system of values and ethical rules which are roughly determined and complied with, as
well as by starting from the premises that the academic sphere and its moral standards
suppose the possibility for all the academic community members to act according to
their own will and also to take responsibility for their own decisions. The development
of this model for possible ethics at the level of international university cooperation
supposed first of all the determination of the current context regarding higher education
internationalization and identification of the activities in the field of international
relations and an analysis of the values and ethical rules necessary for these activities
because, lato sensu, university ethics has to be considered an instrument of the good,
with the purpose of rejecting the negative phenomena that may affect the image of the
institution.
