INTERNATIONAL TRAINING IN WELDING

ABSTRACT

Welding quality can be achieved only by personnel with and without higher education,
but with an adequate level of competence. Since the ability to control the operating
personnel it is referring mainly to a current competence than the routine is a legal
require to periodic renewal of the certification personnel European Welding Federation
(EWF), since it was founding had the first task to harmonization, perfection and
qualification of the welding personnel because the large and small producers of welded
construction have a great need for qualified personnel, and continuously improved.
Currently, at European and International level, there are the following career paths in
welding: International/European Welder, International/European Practitioner Welder,
International/European Welding Specialist, International Welding Technologist,
International/European Welding Engineer, International/European Welding Inspector,
European Thermal Spray Specialist, Resistance Welding Specialist, European Adhesive
Specialist, Plastic Welder and European Aluminothermic Welder. The qualification
mode at International or European level is regulated, in addition by EWF (European
Welding Federation), by the International Institute of Welding IIW-IIS and by
International Authorization Body (IAB) by developing guidelines.
