ABSTRACT
Mining tourism offers visitors mining objects and technology, minerals, ores and
rocks occurring in the region, technologies leading to the enrichment of ore mined,
organizational and economic activities leading to the production of marketable products
and their sale, celebrities and families in the region provide and to support mining
activities, but also the status of the region after mining, a new incoming technology at
the end of mining activities in the region, etc. All of this have to be presented to the
visitor absolutely clear, interesting and engaging. The mining tourism is becoming the
forefront of tourists the last time, involves a part of guided tours, walking in the country,
a bit of adrenaline tourism for visiting of the underground. One of the suitable locality
of mining tourism is Gelnica (Upperhungarian mining town) with their surroundings is
an important historic mining site, which supported prosperous Hungary kingdom by
wealth of ore mined over the centuries. A new way, how to present mining history,
geological heritage, mining objects is using modern software for the reconstruction of
this area and create a 3D model. Using the results achieved for informational -
communicative tool designed for tourists traveling in the area studied for the purpose of
getting to know the history of mining
