ABSTRACT
When planning and landscaping areas to be recultivated after the cessation of mining
activities in brown coal opencast mine areas, limiting conditions as regards natural space,
economy, technical safety and legal regulations must, in particular, be taken into account. The
present features of the landscape have been created by human activity throughout centuries
and can only be preserved. The preservation of native fauna and flora is to be ensured by a
network of biotopes which will include the zone in front of the working face, the area
adjoining the mine and the area to be subsequently recultivated, prior to establishing this of
the different species must be drawn up and the natural habitats beyond the mining area must
be optimized. Mining offers numerous possibilities for the systematic development of a
natural landscape with countless different fauna and flora species. It has been discussed the
essential preconditions of planning for the principal utilization requirements in TKI/Mugla
and also explained the drafting and licensing procedure for final development plans.
