IMPROVING THE GEODESY EDUCATION FROM „1 DECEMBRIE 1918” UNIVERSITY OF ALBA IULIA THROUGH THE ACCREDITATION OF A MASTER’S DEGREE PROGRAM
ABSTRACT
Geodetic education in Romania has been imposed as an economic and scientific necessity, based on the low number of specialists in the field of land surveying.
The changes that have taken place in Europe and Romania since 1989, through the transition from the state to the private ownership, have had the effect of making substantial changes in property registration and cadastral plans.
Upgrading and modernization the cadastre to make it multifunctional, requires a large number of specialists with a uniform distribution at national level. The completion of the necessary specialists in the field of Cadastre is an absolute priority for the Romanian economy and society, given the necessity of introducing and maintaining the General Cadastre throughout Romania, as well as the development and optimization of Land Registry.
In this context, within the „1 Decembrie 1918” University of Alba Iulia, as a continuation of the bachelor degree program „Land Measurements and Cadastre”, was born, starting with 2012, the Master’s Degree Program „Cadastral Information Systems and Real Estate Management”.
