ABSTRACT

This paper presents an analysis of air pollution in Galati, in terms of NO2 concentrations, using the results of concentration measurements from two types of stations of the national air pollution monitoring network, one urban-traffic and one urban-background. In order to determine the temporal evolution of pollution, the daily average hourly NO2 measurements for 2017, obtained from urban traffic and background monitoring stations, were analyzed. Hourly concentrations of NO2 in Galati (Romania) ranged from 2.38 μg / m3 to 102.73 μg / m3. The highest concentration was found during winter in November and the lowest during summer in July.

Keywords: urban air quality monitoring, NO2 pollution, traffic emissions
