ABSTRACT

The article presents research results carried out by the authors in the field of ensuring the energy security of Poland based on a hard coal. The article contains a brief description of the energy market in Poland, the forecast of the electricity production volume up to 2020 (ARIMA model (0,2,1)), as well as the possibilities of using Clean Coal Technologies (CCT). The necessity to undertake activities related to the development and implementation of the CCT is dictated mainly by the growing level of greenhouse-gas emissions. This work is the continuation of earlier author’s research on the application of membrane techniques in the field of enriching gas mixtures, and exhaust gas purification generated during a hard coal combustion in power plants, heating plants and households. The authors proposed a membrane method for the treatment of coal exhaust gas, and first of all, created a computer program for optimal hybrid membrane’s selection. The programme enables the verification of the behaviour and effectiveness of innovative membranes before they are prepared, determine their performance, verify the properties of alternative membranes, reduce the capital-intensive research and the time of conducted experiments.
