ABSTRACT
The shape and geometry of bucket edge, edge and tooth material have a key influence
on wheel excavator mining processes efficiency and power consumption. The frequent
change of cutting members due to their wear or break in increases mining process costs,
shortens excavator operation time which means lower efficiency of the technological
complex (TC). Every wear means a change of shape, geometry, eventually material
properties of cutting members, but the increased power consumption of the mining
process as well. If not only cutting resistance but also a temperature by higher friction
and wear increase with cutting member wear then a thermogram will be a measure of the wear.
