ABSTRACT
The main objective of geochemical mapping is to recognize the promising areas for the
semi-detailed exploration in next steps of geochemical exploration. To reach the goal
the thresholds value of each interested element within the geochemical sample should
be determined at the preliminary step. At the present article, it is attempted to use the
raw geochemical data after pre-processing to distinguish the promising area within the
Khusf 1:50000 sheets which is located at 35 km west of Birjand at the south khorasan
province. This is performed with analyzing of 174 geochemical samples which each of
them have been just analyzed for Sb, Fe, Ti, Sr and Sn elements. For each element some
maps including of one block map (combination of contour and wire frame maps) and
image map have been drowned. The concluded results using of this technique shows
some anomalies in the study area. Furthermore, it has been drawn that the obtained
results are in closed agreement to those acquired with enrichment index methods.
