ABSTRACT

After assessment of supply of ecological (EKO) and Premium quality products (PQP) of bee-keeping in Lithuania in 2012-2014 it can be seen that the number of ecological bee-keeping farms sequentially decreased by 2 farms from 2012 to 2014. Amounts of honey (34.66 t), (32.14 t), (33.56 t) collected during the research period were similar; quantities of all bee-keeping products decreased, except for pollen: in 2014 their quantity increased by 1.8 times, comparing with the quantity at the beginning of the research period. The number of PQP bee-keeping farms quickly increased (in 2012 - 31 farms, in 2014 - 55 farms). The amounts of collected honey increased by 1.6 times in 2014 - 64.9 tons were collected. From 2012 the amount of pollen essentially increased up to 822 kg (by 2 times), and bee bread quantity – up to1.13 t (by 1.5 times). During the assessment of the research period negative tendencies of development of ecological bee-keeping farms was described; the number of PQP bee-keeping farms quickly increased. In 2014 the amount of collected ecological honey reached 33.56 tons, PQP – 64.9 tons.
