ABSTRACT

The article deals with optimizing CFD model of the gravitational heat pipe to the creation of substitute materials and the optimization of its properties, depending on the actually measured results of the experimental device. Gravitational heat pipe operates on the principle of phase change working fluid (heat transfer fluid). The very principle of heat transfer is based on the theory of evaporation and condensation of the working fluid (heat transfer fluid). Heat pipes are classified according to the method of operation and location of use. A subdivision of heat pipe in terms of their actual use in the desired temperature range. As with operating temperature range of the heat pipe it is necessary to take into account the proposal of the material used for the application to prevent improper side phenomenon (chemical reaction). Laboratory measurements of the heating water by heat pipe showing the overall progress of running the heat transfer from the heat (air) to the site of heat consumption (water). For a more detailed analysis and comparison of activities of individual processes, the application of mathematical model in ANSYS software, the results are verified based on measured data from real experiments. The article deals with the possibility of simulations in the process of heat pipe heat transport and appropriate simplifying the simulation process by defining an appropriate refund of solid materials with its own thermal properties that provide similar transport of heat as a heat transfer medium in the heat pipe.
