ABSTRACT
The energy recuperation systems are being increasingly used in modern non-hybrid cars. It allows to recover part of the energy without mounting an additional electric engines and a set of batteries with high capacity in the vehicle. Recuperation of energy, however, involves a number of limitations resulting from: traffic conditions, vehicle construction parameters, electrical energy demand in the car and from the construction of the energy recovery system. In this article presented the results of road tests in a real city traffic showing the practical possibilities of energy recovery and the mathematical model describing the recuperation system operation. On this basis the series of simulations showing the recuperation system properties in its various configurations was performed. This allowed for evaluation of the practical limitations associated with the possibility of braking energy recovery in the vehicle and for general directions appointment of the energy recuperation systems development and optimization.
