NEW SGEM Scientific Online eLibrary
After a long time work, our pride is the absolutely new SGEM Online eLibrary, available here. The Library is created according the rules of the International databases, with a whole needed information and ability to export the article in BIB format. Try and spread your experience with us.
Till we complete the new library with papers from all the years, you can use this link /Full Old Library/, if papers that you need are not visible yet here.

EFFECT OF MIXTURE PREPARATION TECHNIQUE ON PROPERTIES OF GRAPHENE DOPED MOC

Pavlikova, M.; Zaleska, M.; Pivak, A.; Jankovsky, O.; Pavlik, Z.
Abstract:
Graphene nanoplatelets (GNPs), a cheap carbon-based material with large surface-to-volume ratio, are currently broadly investigated as a promising reinforcement for composite materials in building industry to enhance particularly their mechanical, thermal, and electrical properties. However, the uniform dispersion of GNPs in composite material is a crucial factor to fully manifest their superior properties. This study is aimed at the design of environmentally friendly composite material based on magnesium oxychloride cement (MOC) with the addition of GNPs in the amount of 0.5 % by the weight of dry binder materials. Experimental investigation on the single-step and double-step mixture preparation techniques for MOC-GNP composites was carried out and results were compared with the plain MOC. Hardened samples of 7 and 14 days were characterized by their specific density, bulk density, total open porosity, microstructural parameters obtained by mercury intrusion porosimetry (MIP), morphology studied by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and both compressive and flexural strength. Results revealed that the double-step homogenization technique greatly improved all measured parameters. The findings of this study lay the foundation for GNPs application in construction materials based on MOC.
