GEOINFORMATIONAL APPROACH TO SOLVING FORECASTING ENGINEERING AND GEOLOGICAL TASKS IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF MINERAL DEPOSITS

Abstract:
One of the tasks of top priority in the development of the underground mineral deposits in engineering geology is the forecast of changes in engineering geological conditions as a result of anthropogenic factors and the degree of impact on existing buildings and ñonstructions. The most significant anthropogenic impact is associated with the extraction of minerals and host rocks. As a result of the development of the underground space, the deformations of the earth's surface can occur, which may lead to the subsidence or curvature alterations, going downhill, compressing and stretching the rocks as a result of horizontal and vertical deformations. This in turn, leads to the change in the hydrological and hydro geological regime, activation of exogenous processes, etc. The given article presents the results of creating a GIS system for solving the forecasting tasks of changing engineering geological conditions as a result of anthropogenic impact. The use of the GIS technologies allows specialists to be provided with reliable and up–to–date information for assessing certain geotechnical risks in the areas of mountain allotments and making the well—grounded managerial decisions. The result of the forecasting modeling is to be a set of maps (cartographic layers) within the zone of the influence of mining work supplied with the following information: the forecast of the degree of anthropogenic impact, the forecast of changes in engineering–geological, hydro geological, geoecological conditions, the identification of the objects on the earth’s surface being at risk. On the basis of the forecasting calculations, it is necessary to develop measures for reducing the negative impact. The informational models of the area are to be monitored at all stages of the deposit`s activity cycle, which will make it possible to receive qualitative information on the engineering and geological conditions of the developed area at any time.
