NEW SGEM Scientific Online eLibrary
After a long time work, our pride is the absolutely new SGEM Online eLibrary, available here. The Library is created according the rules of the International databases, with a whole needed information and ability to export the article in BIB format. Try and spread your experience with us.
Till we complete the new library with papers from all the years, you can use this link /Full Old Library/, if papers that you need are not visible yet here.

IMPACT ON ENERGY PERFORMANCE USING PHASE CHANGE MATERIALS TO REDUCE ENERGY CONSUMPTION IN BUILDINGS

Badea, G.; Gagea, A. M.; Gagea-Manitiu, V.; Badita, A.; Dumitrescu, M.
Abstract:
The ambient temperature inside a building is essential for occupant comfort, and it influences directly the interior microclimate. Keeping the inner temperature at an optimum value involves energy consumption for heating and cooling. Energy consumption can be reduced by integrating phase change materials into the structure of the building. In thermal regime, with the integration of phase change materials, an integration model based on a mathematical method suitable for a thermal process analysis is described. This model concentrates on the characteristic parameters of phase change materials. At the same time, the most important parameter, namely the indoor temperature, is influenced by the thermal exchanges, the thermal inertia capacity of the elements with phase change materials and the different solar radiation levels depending on the climatic zone is also emphasized. Following the described model, the energy balance is evaluated, the internal temperature deduction having an impact on the activation of temperature required for the melting-solidification cycle of phase change materials used in the study. The results obtained can influence the concept of implementing phase change materials in buildings, identifying possible applications in energy efficiency, reducing energy losses and reducing carbon dioxide emissions.
