NEW SGEM Scientific Online eLibrary
After a long time work, our pride is the absolutely new SGEM Online eLibrary, available here. The Library is created according the rules of the International databases, with a whole needed information and ability to export the article in BIB format. Try and spread your experience with us.
Till we complete the new library with papers from all the years, you can use this link /Full Old Library/, if papers that you need are not visible yet here.

EFFECT OF ADDITIVES ON TEMPERATURE REDUCING DURING ASPHALT MIXTURES PRODUCTION

Remisova, E.
Abstract:
In recent years, the focus is more, more often put on environmental protection and energy saving, therefore, a variety of alternative materials, and alternative procedures in the field of road construction are search. One potential option is to reduce the temperature in the production, laying and compaction of asphalt mixtures that favourable affects a carbon footprint. This is achieved by the use of organic additives and waxes, chemical agents or water (foamed bitumen). Depending on the additives, it is possible to reduce the production and working temperatures of 10 to 55 °C. However, these additives can change other parameters of bituminous binders. In paper, the effects of selected additives Sasobit, Licomont BS100, CWM on the characteristics of the tested bitumen binders, on dynamic viscosity, penetration, and softening point are analyzed. For experimental measurements two paving grade bitumen 35/50, 50/70 and polymer modified bitumen PMB 45/80-75 were chosen. Measurements of properties have been performed according to the relevant European standards. The initial presumption, the reduction of binder viscosity at higher temperatures was confirmed. The results show that additives affect other properties of binders, reduce the penetration of 20 % and significantly increase the softening point of 50 %, in particular of paving grade bitumen. The additive changes the properties of original bituminous binder, which was considered in the design of the asphalt mixtures.
