OPTIMAL ADAPTIVE CONTROL OF SOLAR HOT WATER SUPPLY SYSTEM

ABSTRACT
Solar energy using for hot water supply systems is one of the most advanced line of investigation of renewable energy sources. Basic researches in the direction are connected with engineering changes in these systems and in its major elements (i.e. collectors, storage tank units, pumps, etc.). In the paper increasing solar water heating systems efficiency approach based on Pontryagin’s Maximum Principle are represented. Based on heat balance equations and empirical dependences mathematical model of low-temperature solar heating systems with flat-plate collectors is developed. Model shows relationship between flow rate of heat-transfer agent and its input and output temperature in storage tank unit. An adaptive optimal automatic control system of solar hot water supply system was designed on basis of developed model.
